The clients wanted a mantel that really jumped out at them, something that reflected the age of the home in elegance but was not historically correct. The boring gray fireplace was transformed into a one of a kind focal point. The existing moldings and accents were highlighted with gold leaf and a faux marble was applied to the mantle and pilasters.
